Earthen Jar brings authentic vegetarian Indian cuisine with a modern touch. Our buffet-style dining and takeout options have been serving the community for years with fresh, flavorful, and wholesome meals.

We are located in downtown Ypsilanti and serve the greater Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor communities. We team with a variety of online delivery partners to provide deliveries to most of these areas

History

Founded in 1997Earthen Jar is a family-owned vegetarian Indian restaurant offering Punjabi cuisine with a modern touch.
The Sethi family opened the original location in August 1997 in downtown Ann Arbor to provide tasty, healthy vegetarian options. It quickly became a local staple with its popular by-the-pound buffet featuring dishes like chana masala and shahi korma sabzi

In 2025 Earthen Jar expanded to downtown Ypsilanti at 406 W. Michigan Ave., opening a second location (with carryout focus) to better serve the community.

Earthen Jar remains known for fresh, flavorful, allergen-friendly (vegan, gluten-free, etc.) meals in both Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.
