Putt-R-Round began after we (owners, local artists Jef and Jade) went mini golfing together in 2022 and it quickly became our favorite date activity. When the weather got colder, we realized how few places offered indoor mini golf. Jef built the first putt game for our living room, Putt Pool, as a fun billiards game to practice our aim and scratch the itch. He kept building and we got feedback from friends and family, encouraging us to explore building more games.
Jade thought we should bring a three game putt carnival to the Ypsi Flea and other local markets. We both love art and graphic design, so before long, we’d created a fun kitschy brand that incorporated Halloween and mini golf campiness and called it Putt-R-Round!
The attractions debuted in the spring of 2023 and were a hit. Ypsilanti understood what we were going for and that has never wavered. Throughout the next year, we brought Putt-R-Round to parties, movie nights and events and began to look for a place to open a new venture, Putt-R-Round Mini Golf and Putt Arcade!
Our first location was at 108 W. Michigan Ave. where we had a blast getting to know our downtown neighbors. Jef built a semi-permanent 18 hole mini golf course and we created more Halloween art and decor, some with local artists! Jade got involved with other businesses, trying to bring more people downtown and connect with the larger community. Ypsilantians were of course, amazing and supported our oddball shop dream.
In early 2026, we moved to our current location, 130 W. Michigan Ave. Just down the block with more space, a fantastic storefront to decorate and a separate area for birthday parties. Our neighbors here in Ypsilanti have continued to be incredibly enthusiastic and have supported our goal to bring one-of-a-kind, year-round entertainment to our favorite town.
